Details of Day's Events

11am

----

Who: Melvin, Mildrid, Yunqing

Right, as I ain't part of this batch, I can't really tell what happened, other than knowing that they went to watch Jimmy Neutron, and that the ticket attendant forgot to remove their ticket stubs.

12pm

----

Who: Jiaqi (11.55am), Grace (12.10pm), Dobson (?), Xiaonan, Tai An, Junyi (all at 12.20pm)

Where: City Hall MRT, in transit to IT Fair 2002, Suntec City, Level 4
Not present: Jeremy, Sook Fen, David (Council event). Lennon (wanted to watch TV: Slam Dunk). Jeffrey, Jingting (as usual).

Went for the IT fair at around 12.30pm. Travel time approx 10mins. Tai An got lost while inside, but somehow found us. 1st batch met with us at around 1.30pm. Yunching was the only one to buy something (RDRam, $160+). Went for lunch next, had Burger King takeaway, picniced around Fountain of Wealth. Sang a few songs, with Tai An playing the guitar. Melvin was trying to persuade everyone to go to Funan, but failed due to overwhelming majority vote against the idea. Dobson kindly offered to accompany him to the Microsoft shop to get his optical mouse. Junyi tried to get the rest to go into the Fountain of Wealth, but noone seems interested, so he went alone while others went to the restroom. Mildrid and Yunching left after lunch. Walked to City Hall next, met Lennon, annoyed him loads by taking the train when he just got off. Got off at Somerset, walked to Le Meridian.

3.30pm

------

Booked at table at $9 an hour, begun play with Lennon vs Tai An. Not exactly the best day of Lennon's life, he got the cue ball into the holes 6 times, but won in the end, after ?hr play. Melvin and Dobson soon returned, with Melvin holding on to his brand new $72.90 Microsoft?Optical Mouse. Grace and Xiaonan tried to persuade Melvin to accompany them to PS to look at hairclips, but Melvin, in a display of egocentrism and unwillingness to end up in a hairclip shop, turned them down, who then went themselves. Sookfen met the girls and tagged along, but didn't return w/ them for dinner nor pool. By then, a second table was booked, and all non-newbies booked another table to play, while the newbies (melvin, dobson, junyi) stayed behind, trying to learn how to hit the cue ball correctly and true. Jiaqi stayed w/ the table to help end the game faster and teach the newbies. Jeremy and David later came, with David subbing Jiaqi, and Jeremy at the other table. The girls returned at 5.34pm, a minute before the end of the 2nd hour, and subbed Melvin, who left trying to catch up with Sookfen, and Junyi. Game was supposed to end at 6.35pm, but as everyone was honing their skills on one table, it was extended for another ?hour.

7.15pm

------

Left for the food court and Plaza Singapura, level 6. Jiaqi gave a long talk to the budding councillors on how to run for council and advice on campaigning, before our stomachs decided that it was time for dinner. Jiaqi then tried to kill off our appetite by asking questions related to computers that noone can answer.

8.40pm

------

After more discussion on the details of campaigning, we left for some light-deprieved deserted place near the ex-national library, illuminated by high-pressure yellow sodium street lamps. The guitarists (David, Tai An, Jeremy) then led the group through a series of songs, before ending with the medley of school songs. This group of people might have drawn a few curious stares from occasional passerbys, but other than that, no one else was disturbed. Jeremy wanted to leave at 9, but we made him stay until we all decided it was time for home.

9.30pm

------

Songs ended with Eyes on Me, which we sang as we headed for the MRT stations and bus stops, though it was broken abruptly as the MRT people split with the Bus-riders.
